Detailed introduction
On 28 November 2025, Phase I of Dongguan Metro Line 1, with Fangda platform screen doors, officially began operations and marked Dongguan’s entry into the Metro 2.0 era. Phase I is 57.468 km long with 25 stations (22 underground, 3 elevated), and is the largest municipal project funded by the Dongguan government. The Fangda system uses AI sensing to monitor doors in real time. Its anti-pinch design and AI gap detection improve safety and efficiency. In January 2025, Fangda Innotech was named “Advanced Supplier of Dongguan Metro Line 1 for 2024.”Line 1 crosses Line 2 at the city center, forming Dongguan’s metro backbone. It offers easy transfers to intercity lines and will link with Guangzhou and Shenzhen metros, strengthening rail connectivity in the Greater Bay Area.
