It is one of the first unmanned rail transit lines under construction in Mumbai, with a total length of 33.5 km. It connects the business district Cuffe Paradie at the extreme south of the city with SEEPZ (Santacruz Electronic Export Processing Zone) in the north-central, and has a total of 26 underground stations and 1 street-level station. Upon completion, it will become one of the longest underground continuous lines in India, which can help Mumbai increase its urban rail transit capacity by more than five times, reaching 1.6 million passengers per day.
